ELLISVILLE \u2013 糖心直播\u2019s Concert and Symphonic Bands will be performing live before an audience on Thursday, April 15 at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium. This concert is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

The 55-member Concert Band is conducted by Dr. Lindsey Keay and will feature musical selections, \u201cSwahili Folk Hymn\u201d Arranged by Kevin Mixon, \u201cFiesta De Los Bravos\u201d by James Swearingen, \u201cEarthdawn\u201d by\u00a0Randall Standridge and \u201cLullaby to the Moon\u201d by\u00a0Brian Balmages.<\/p>\n

Symphonic Band Conductor, Dr. Ben Burge has chosen four musical selections for his nearly 60-member band: \u201cFlourish for Wind Band\u201d by R\"\"<\/a>. Vaughn Williams, \u201cLux Arumque\u201d by Eric Whitacre, \u201cFanfare Hayabusa\u201d by Satoshi Yagisawa, and \u201cFirst Suite in E Flat, movement III, March,\u201d by\u00a0Gustav Holst.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so excited\u00a0to perform our first formal concert in more than a year!\u201d said Burge. \u201cThe COVID-19 Pandemic forced the cancellation of all of our end-of-the-year events last spring. It left us all very disappointed and frankly, rather heartbroken. This concert will be very special to our students and our band staff as we will have some finality and closure, unlike last year. Our students have worked very hard to build a program that was both fun and educational to put together. I am very proud of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Keay echoed Burge\u2019s excitement about being able to share live music with\"\"<\/a> an audience of friends and family again.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur students have done a great job rehearsing this literature. They are very excited to perform again on a stage and share this exciting music with their friends and family,\u201d said Keay.<\/p>\n
